Higher education in Indonesia is faced with various important power relations in response to global developments and increasingly complex social demands. Responding to these challenges, the concept of “Independent Learning Campus Independent Learning” was introduced to provide more freedom to students in designing educational curricula and developing skills according to their interests.

Lecturers and students of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, held a field visit to PLN Batam, to increase students’ insight and compare the theories that students learn on campus with practice in the field.

This work visit is a positive initial step towards the implementation of relevant and responsive higher education, adapting to the needs of the times. Through this field visit, it is hoped that it can strengthen the infrastructure of higher education and produce a generation that is ready to face global challenges and the world of work.
