Eid al-Adha is a moment to share blessings among each other, including the extended family of the University of Riau Islands. On Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah, UNRIKA sacrificed 1 cow and 2 goats. The activity was carried out on Tuesday (18/6) at the Main Campus of the University of Riau Islands, Batu Aji, Batam.
Furthermore, the sacrificial meat was distributed to those who sacrificed, and all employees of the academic community of the University of Riau Islands. The slaughter of sacrificial animals is intended to increase faith and piety to Allah SWT. An atmosphere of togetherness and family seemed to color the implementation of the slaughter of sacrificial animals. Most of the employees were busy taking care of the cutting, skinning, and distribution of sacrificial meat.
This activity also proves that UNRIKA is an institution that cares and is responsive to social needs, so that it is able to elevate the image of the university as a center of education that not only excels academically, but also has a high concern for humanity and the welfare of society. In addition, hopefully this spirit of sharing can provide real benefits for those in need, as well as strengthen the ties of friendship between the academic community and the surrounding community.
